Striker Rasmus Hojlund’s two early goals put United in control, but Luton Town’s Carlton Morris narrowed the deficit in the 14th minute. Despite dominating chances, United failed to restore their two-goal cushion.
Ten Hag acknowledged his team’s fragility at times and expressed disappointment at missing “really massive chances.” He emphasized the importance of scoring more goals and being clinical in front of goal, stating, “The only thing we didn’t do is be more clinical in front of goal. We must score more goals because today we could have easily scored five goals.”
United, currently sixth in the Premier League, will face Fulham in their next match before a fifth-round FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forest. Ten Hag’s call for increased clinical finishing aims to ensure a more decisive performance from Manchester United in future matches.
