Napoli striker Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has asserted his intention to explore legal recourse following the release and subsequent deletion of a mocking video targeting his client on Napoli’s official TikTok account. Calenda, addressing the issue on the messaging platform X (formerly Twitter), expressed grave concern over the impact of the video on Osimhen.
In his statement, Calenda condemned the video, deeming it “unacceptable” and highlighting the sequence of events that unfolded on Napoli’s TikTok platform. He stated, “What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted.”
Calenda concluded by asserting, “We reserve the right to take legal action and any other useful initiative to protect Victor.”
As of now, Napoli has not issued an official response to the situation, and inquiries made outside of regular business hours have remained unanswered.
The incident in question follows Napoli’s recent goalless draw against Bologna in Serie A, where Osimhen missed a late penalty. During the match, Osimhen was substituted as the game neared its conclusion and was observed protesting the decision. He directed his frustration at Napoli’s coach, Rudi Garcia, before departing the field. Notably, Coach Garcia has downplayed the intensity of the situation.
Currently, defending champions Napoli occupy the seventh position in the Serie A standings. Their next fixture is scheduled to be held at home against Udinese on Wednesday.
