Meanwhile, at the Zhuhai Championships in China, No. 1 seed Karen Khachanov of Russia put an end to his semifinal drought by defeating No. 4 seed Sebastian Korda with a score of 7-5, 6-4. Khachanov’s victory marked his first appearance in a final since Adelaide in January 2022, and he showcased his dominance by winning 83 percent of his first-service points (30 of 36) against Korda.

Khachanov will face eighth-seeded Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan in the ATP 250 hard-court final. Nishioka secured his place in the title match with a confident 6-4, 6-4 victory against Russia’s Aslan Karatsev. Although Karatsev finished with a 29-8 advantage in winners, Nishioka’s consistent play and limited unforced errors (only five compared to Karatsev’s 20) proved decisive in securing his spot in the championship showdown.
