Rio de Janeiro’s Sports Authority Offers 100 Tickets to Generous Blood Donors
In a heartwarming initiative, blood donors have been given the opportunity to enjoy Sunday’s much-anticipated Copa do Brasil final at the iconic Maracanã stadium in Rio de Janeiro, and the Rio de Janeiro State Sports Superintendence, which oversees the stadium, has announced its generosity by giving away 100 tickets.
In collaboration with the Rio State Health Department, this campaign aims to provide complimentary access to the first leg of the final showdown between two Brazilian football giants, Flamengo and Sao Paulo. The first 100 individuals who selflessly donate blood at the Hemorio (Instituto Estadual de Hematologia Arthur de Siqueira Cavalcanti) on the matchday will be awarded these coveted tickets.
Dr. Luiz Antonio, affectionately known as Dr. Luizinho and the state’s health secretary, expressed his gratitude in a heartfelt video message on social media, saying, “Our Hemorio has a lot to thank the initiatives that combine the passion for football, the passion for Flamengo, with the passion for saving lives.”
This highly anticipated match not only signifies the thrilling Copa do Brasil final but also marks the reopening of the illustrious Maracanã stadium. Just last month, the stadium had to temporarily close its doors for essential pitch repairs following heavy rainfall, making this event all the more special for football enthusiasts and generous donors alike.
