The Kean University baseball team’s impressive 15-game win streak came to an end on Thursday afternoon, as they were defeated 12-8 by Stockton University.
Game Recap
The Cougars (31-6) started strong, taking a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Tyler Stone delivered an RBI single, while John Chiusano and Brett Hillsheimer each contributed with sacrifice flies.
However, Stockton answered back with four runs in the same inning, taking a lead they would hold for the remainder of the game. Kean managed to pull within one run at a later point, but Stockton added insurance runs to maintain their advantage.
The two teams combined for 29 hits throughout the game.
Key Performers
Kyle Adorno went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and one run scored. Hillsheimer also had a strong game, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Dominic Masino, Dan Reistle, and Stone each contributed with two hits apiece.
Looking Ahead
The Cougars will look to bounce back as they face Stockton again tomorrow in Union.
