The RIT women’s tennis team came up short in a 5-2 Liberty League matchup against William Smith on Wednesday.
Despite the loss, RIT saw standout performances from two first-year players in singles action. Emily Greb earned a solid win at No. 1 singles, defeating Natalie Haythorn 7-5, 6-1. Melanie Saborio followed with a strong showing at No. 2 singles, securing a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Haley Levine.
The rest of the matchups favored William Smith, who claimed the overall team win by taking the majority of singles and doubles points.
What’s Next: RIT will close out its regular season on Saturday, April 26, when the Tigers host Union College at 3:00 p.m.
