North Carolina Central University junior Alejandra Hidalgo Vega has once again earned top recognition in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). On Wednesday evening, she was named to the 2025 Women’s Tennis All-MEAC First Team for the third consecutive year.
The announcement was made during the MEAC Tennis Awards ceremony, held ahead of the 2025 MEAC Tennis Championships scheduled for April 24–26.
Hidalgo Vega, who hails from Madrid, Spain, wrapped up the regular season with an impressive 12-5 singles record while playing exclusively in the No. 1 spot. In conference matches, she went 4-2, securing wins over Howard, Coppin State, Morgan State, and Norfolk State. Her contributions helped NC Central earn sweeps against four opponents during the MEAC Round-Up.
Beyond the conference, Hidalgo Vega also claimed victories against East Carolina, Longwood, Quinnipiac, and Radford.
In doubles play, she continued to be a leader, competing in both the No. 1 and No. 3 positions and posting an 11-7 record. Teaming up with freshman Valentina de Aquino Monsanto, the pair went 6-3 overall, including a 4-2 record in MEAC play.
