For the seventh consecutive year, Morocco has been named the winner of the African Tennis Confederation’s “Best Nation’s Trophy.” The award recognizes the country’s strong performances in junior tennis tournaments across the continent.
Morocco earned this honor after its young athletes excelled in the Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 African Junior Championships in 2025. The country also gained key points during the Under-14 championship held in late 2024.
“The Best Nation’s Trophy goes to Morocco once again, thanks to outstanding results in all junior age categories,” the Confederation of African Tennis said in an official statement.
Young Moroccan players stood out this year with strong performances in multiple age groups. Their consistent success helped Morocco maintain its leading position in African junior tennis.
In a letter sent on Wednesday, Jean Claude Talon, President of the African Tennis Confederation, informed Fayçal Laraichi, President of the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation, about the award.
The official trophy will be presented during the closing ceremony of the African Team Championship for the Under-14 category. The event will take place in Cairo, Egypt, from May 5 to 10.
Tunisia finished second in the overall rankings, followed by Egypt in third place.
“Well done to the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation and to all participating nations for their hard work and sportsmanship throughout the year,” the Confederation added.
