Men’s basketball head coach Kirby Schepp has announced the commitment of Ethan Wiebe, a standout player from Manitoba, to join the team. The 6’9″, 248-pound center and forward is widely regarded as the best big man in the province.
Wiebe, a graduating all-star and the 2025 AAA Male Player of the Year, had an outstanding high school career with the Garden Valley Zodiacs in Winkler, Manitoba. He averaged 24 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, and six blocks per game, showcasing his two-way ability. His dominant performance helped the Zodiacs reach the AAA final, where Wiebe was named a tournament all-star.
“After a remarkable high school career, we are thrilled to add the top 2025 big man in Manitoba to our program,” said Coach Schepp. “Ethan’s combination of size, skill, and versatility will be a valuable asset to our team. His ability to rebound, score inside, and stretch the floor with his shooting fits perfectly with our needs.”
Wiebe expressed his excitement about the opportunity, saying, “I am very excited for this opportunity and all the experiences that will come with it. I want to thank my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, my parents, and all the friends and family who have supported me.
