Excitement is building ahead of the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship as the official draw for the tournament was held on Monday, 21 April. The draw took place with much fanfare and was led by CAF legends Asamoah Gyan of Ghana and Clementine Toure of Côte d’Ivoire.
The finals will take place from 23 to 26 April at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra. The tournament features eight countries in both the Boys and Girls Under-15 categories.
In the Girls U-15 division, host nation Ghana leads Group A and will face Morocco, Benin, and Malawi. Defending champions South Africa will begin their campaign in Group B against Uganda, DR Congo, and The Gambia. Each of these teams will be eager to challenge the reigning champions.
The Boys U-15 draw also delivered exciting matchups. Ghana will again headline Group A, competing against Uganda, South Africa, and Algeria in a tough group that promises competitive fixtures.
Group B in the boys’ division features defending champions Tanzania, who will go up against Senegal, debutants Côte d’Ivoire, and DR Congo. DR Congo is notably represented in both the boys’ and girls’ categories this year.
The CAF African Schools Football Championship is held under the theme “Encourage, Educate and Engage.” The event not only showcases the best of African youth football but also includes capacity-building programs aimed at developing young players on and off the field.
