Stanford, the No. 3 seed, rallied from behind for the second straight match after Virginia, seeded fifth, won the doubles point. The Cardinal split the top two courts in doubles, with Nico Godsick and Hudson Rivera notching a 6-3 upset win over the No. 30-ranked pair from Virginia. However, Virginia edged Stanford on court three to take the early lead.

Alex Razeghi followed with a straight-set win, 6-1, 7-6(3), on court five, giving Stanford a 2-1 lead. Henry von der Schulenburg extended the advantage with a 6-3, 6-3 win on court four—his team-leading 19th victory of the season.

Virginia fought back with a win on court two, closing the gap to 3-2. But Basing secured the championship with a composed 7-5, 6-2 win on court three. It was his 16th win this season and 13th in dual matches, tying him with Tom Fawcett for 27th in program history with 53 career dual-match victories.

This is Stanford’s first conference championship since winning the Pac-12 regular season title in 2024. The men’s tennis team joins women’s gymnastics as ACC champions in the 2024-25 academic year.

Stanford is now in strong position to host multiple rounds in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. The Cardinal will learn its postseason placement during the NCAA selection show on Monday, April 28 at 2 p.m. PT.
