The University of Hawai’i women’s tennis team (7-7, 5-3 Big West) will wrap up its regular season with a dual match against UC Irvine (10-10, 1-6 Big West) on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. HT at Anteater Tennis Stadium.

Hawai’i has won the last 12 consecutive matches against UC Irvine.
The Rainbow Wahine are coming off a brief break and will return to action to conclude their regular season with the match against UC Irvine. Hawai’i is currently tied for third place in the Big West standings with Long Beach State. However, the Rainbow Wahine hold the tie-breaker after defeating Long Beach State 5-2 on the road last month.
Three Hawai’i players are tied with a team-high eight singles wins this season. Senior Ana Vilcek leads the team with an 8-3 record. Vilcek recently made headlines by upsetting 10th-ranked Amelia Honer in a thrilling match that went to a third-set super tie-breaker, where Vilcek triumphed 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8). Following the big win, Vilcek earned Big West Player of the Week honors. She has been on a strong run, winning five of her last six matches, including her last three in a row.
Both Nikola Homolkova and Joelle Lanz have posted 8-5 records this season. Homolkova narrowly lost in a three-set match to No. 51 Cal Poly’s Romane Mosse, while Lanz has dropped her last two matches but won four of her previous six.
In doubles, Hawai’i’s No. 1 team of Peppi Ramstedt and Sheena Masuda leads the team with an 8-4 record. They have been particularly strong in conference play, holding a 5-2 record, and are 7-3 on the No. 1 court. At No. 3, Hannah Galindo and Makeilah Nepomuceno have a 6-6 overall record, while Vilcek and Homolkova have a 5-7 mark at No. 2.
UC Irvine Anteaters (10-10, 1-6 Big West)
The Anteaters are on a three-match losing streak and will first face 72nd-ranked Long Beach State on Friday before their match against Hawai’i.
Hally Huynh has been the standout for UC Irvine, leading the team with a 14-3 singles record. Huynh has played on courts No. 3, 4, 5, and 6, remaining undefeated at 7-0 at No. 4, 3-0 at No. 3, and 1-0 at No. 6. Two other Anteater players have reached double-digit wins in singles: Yen Nhi Huynh (13-5) and Mally Huynh (10-6).
In doubles, the pair of Carolyna Fowler and Yen Nhi Huynh leads the team with a 12-3 record, including an 11-2 mark on the No. 2 court.
