Following the historic success of Paris 2024, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) is now setting its sights on the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The venues for volleyball and beach volleyball at LA28 have officially been confirmed. Beach volleyball will take place at Alamitos Beach in Long Beach, while indoor volleyball will be hosted at the Arena in Anaheim—one of Southern California’s top sports and entertainment venues.
These announcements come after volleyball and beach volleyball saw record-breaking popularity at the Paris Games. With massive global viewership, thrilling matches, and stunning venues, the 2024 competitions were widely seen as the most successful in the sport’s Olympic history.
Looking ahead, the FIVB believes that LA28, scheduled from July 14 to 30, 2028, will elevate the sport even further. The selected locations are expected to offer athletes and fans an unforgettable Olympic experience.
“We are extremely excited by the confirmation of these venues and the opportunity they represent to showcase our sports at the Olympic Games LA28,” said FIVB Secretary General Hugh McCutcheon. “The Paris 2024 volleyball competitions showed volleyball and beach volleyball at their absolute best, and we are confident LA28 will continue that legacy. The FIVB looks forward to continuing to work closely with the LA28 Organising Committee, the IOC, and all of our partners in the lead-up to what promises to be an outstanding Games.”
