Newly appointed Head Coach Thomas Ford is stepping into his first spring at the helm of Idaho football, aiming to sustain the momentum the program has built over recent seasons. The Vandals are coming off one of their strongest years, notching only the third 10-win season in school history.
Among those ten victories was a signature 17-13 win over FBS opponent Wyoming, making Idaho one of just three programs in the country with multiple wins over FBS teams in the last three years. The Vandals also advanced in the playoffs with a commanding 34-13 victory against Lehigh, marking their second consecutive season with a postseason win — a feat achieved by only six programs nationally.
Idaho’s success has come against top-tier opposition. Last season, the team secured four wins over nationally ranked top-25 opponents. The Vandals were especially dominant at home, posting a perfect 7-0 record inside the P1FCU Kibbie Dome — thanks in large part to the unwavering support of the Vandal Family.
Now, Coach Ford is looking to build on that foundation and guide Idaho to new heights in the Big Sky Conference. His focus is on maintaining the program’s toughness while pushing for consistent excellence on both sides of the ball.
