First-year player Alexander Sinclair secured the deciding point in a tight 4–3 win for the RIT men’s tennis team over Vassar on Sunday.
Doubles Recap:
Sinclair and fellow first-year Yu Tanimoto earned a 6–4 victory over James Balon and Joaquin Gil at third doubles. This helped set the tone for the Tigers’ strong performance in singles.
Singles Recap:
- Tanimoto dominated at first singles, defeating Fernando Bauermeister 6–0, 6–1.
- Sophomore Alec Turcotte earned a gritty win at third singles, coming out on top 6–3, 6–7 (5–7), 6–0.
- Junior Gabriel Escobar claimed a win at fifth singles over Balon, 4–6, 6–2, 0–6.
- Sinclair clinched the match at sixth singles, outlasting Gil in three sets, 6–2, 6–7 (3–7), 6–3.
