The college hosted a meet-and-greet to introduce its new head football coach, former NFL player Chris Goode. The event also served as a fundraiser and brought together business leaders, alumni, and community members to support Golden Bears football.
Miles College President Bobbie Knight called the evening a time of excitement and opportunity. Coach Goode, who played professionally for the Indianapolis Colts, is set to make his coaching debut during the school’s annual Spring Game this Saturday.
The Spring Game will be part of Campus Preview Day—a key recruiting event for potential students and their families. Knight said the energy of game day will give visitors a chance to truly experience the spirit of Miles College.
“We’re welcoming everyone,” said Knight. “Every student and parent who is interested—or even those who don’t yet know they’re interested—because after Saturday, they will be. We’re not at our sweet spot yet, but we’re getting closer, and this event will help us move in that direction.”
Enrollment has been a challenge at colleges nationwide, and Miles College is no exception. But Knight says events like Preview Day are part of a larger strategy to reverse that trend. By creating personal connections and showcasing campus life, the school hopes to inspire more students to choose Miles.
Preview Day will begin Saturday morning, with kickoff for the Spring Game scheduled for 2 p.m.
