Jaguars Make History with Dual Teams in ITA Top 50

The Augusta University men’s tennis team has risen to No. 33 in the latest ITA Division II national rankings, continuing a strong season in one of the most competitive regions in the country. The Jaguars, now 11-6, are part of the powerful Southeast Region and compete in the Peach Belt Conference, home to five nationally ranked teams.

Within the Peach Belt, North Georgia leads at No. 21, followed by Lander (No. 24), Columbus State (No. 25), Georgia College (No. 35), and Augusta at No. 33. Throughout the spring season, the Jaguars have challenged themselves with a tough schedule and have earned key non-conference wins.

Their spring record includes a win over No. 45 Lenoir-Rhyne and a split series with No. 41 Belmont Abbey. In one of their closest matches of the season, Augusta narrowly fell 4-3 to No. 24 Lander. Most recently, they secured back-to-back home victories over Emmanuel and Montevallo.

The Jaguars will wrap up the regular season on the road at Flagler on April 17 before entering the Peach Belt Conference Tournament.

This week’s ITA rankings also mark a special moment for the program. For the first time this season, both the Augusta men’s and women’s tennis teams are featured in the ITA Division II Top 50. The milestone reflects the growing strength and success of the university’s tennis program on both sides.
