The Saint Joseph’s men’s tennis team suffered a 4-2 loss to George Mason in a rescheduled conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon.
How It Happened
Saint Joseph’s took the second doubles flight with a dominant 6-1 win from Matthew Dubas and Santiago Valle. However, George Mason secured victories in the first and third doubles flights, clinching the doubles point.
The Patriots extended their lead with a win in the top singles flight, but Valle responded for the Hawks, claiming a 6-2, 6-1 win in the third singles flight to put Saint Joseph’s on the board.
After George Mason took the sixth singles flight to make it 3-1, Othman Bezzaz won 6-4, 6-1 in the fifth flight, narrowing the deficit to 3-2. Unfortunately for the Hawks, George Mason clinched the match with a win in the fourth singles flight.
