The 2008 Team USA Olympic men’s basketball team, famously known as the ‘Redeem Team,’ has been inducted into the prestigious Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
The team, which included basketball legends like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Dwyane Wade, captured the gold medal in Beijing, reclaiming their dominance after settling for a bronze in Athens four years earlier in 2004.
Under the leadership of Hall of Fame coach Mike Krzyzewski, the Redeem Team was flawless in their quest for gold, winning all eight of their games by an average margin of 27.9 points.
This induction is part of the Class of 2025, which includes individual honors for team members Carmelo Anthony, a three-time Olympic champion, and Dwight Howard, an Olympic gold medalist.
The USA has long been a powerhouse in Olympic basketball, and three female players were also recognized in this year’s Hall of Fame class.
