Florida International University (FIU) has officially announced its 2025 football season opener, set for Friday, Aug. 29, against Bethune-Cookman at home.
The game will take place at South Dade Kia Field at Pitbull Stadium, marking the first contest under new head coach Willie Simmons. The exact kickoff time will be determined later in coordination with TV partners, along with the full schedule of game times for the season.
This will be FIU’s first home opener since 2022. The Panthers and Wildcats last faced off in 2014 and have met a total of four times in their history.
Ahead of the season, FIU will host its Spring Game on Saturday, April 5, at 3 p.m. ET inside Pitbull Stadium. The event is free and open to fans, offering a fast-paced preview of the team under Simmons’ leadership.
