Lindenwood’s baseball team (11-14) completed a thrilling comeback on Tuesday night, scoring seven runs in the ninth inning to eventually defeat Bradley (3-17), 12-11, in 14 innings at Lou Brock Sports Complex.

Bradley started strong with a two-out, three-run homer in the first inning, taking a 3-0 lead. Lindenwood responded quickly, cutting the lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the first with an RBI groundout by Filip Sarota that scored Charlie Isom-McCall.
The Braves added another home run in the second inning to restore their three-run lead, making it 4-1. Lindenwood battled back in the third, with Kam Edwards scoring after a leadoff double, trimming the deficit to 4-2. Bradley extended its lead further with three runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth, pulling ahead 9-2.
The Braves pushed the lead to 10-2 with a run in the sixth. Lindenwood responded in the eighth when Isom-McCall tripled home Edwards, making the score 10-3. Tanner Simpson followed with a single to bring home Isom-McCall, cutting the deficit to 10-4.
Bradley added another run in the top of the ninth, pushing the score to 11-5. But Lindenwood wasn’t done. Tyler Ellis led off the bottom of the ninth with a solo homer, making it 11-6.
The Lions continued their rally as Tyler Thompson doubled, followed by Jack Meyer hitting a two-run homer, cutting the lead to 11-7. Edwards added another run with a triple, scoring Mitch Cummins, and Isom-McCall’s RBI single made it 11-9.
With two outs and the bases loaded, Thompson delivered a clutch hit, bringing in the tying runs and forcing the game into extra innings. Lindenwood’s Easton Rakers pitched out of a jam in the top of the 10th, keeping the game tied. The Braves responded by escaping a bases-loaded situation in the bottom of the inning.
Rakers kept the momentum going with a scoreless 12th inning, and Zach Buschschulte followed with two scoreless frames. In the 14th, Ellis hit a leadoff homer, completing Lindenwood’s remarkable comeback and securing a 12-11 victory. The bullpen was stellar, tossing 8.2 innings and allowing just one run after the early deficit.
