Bowie State University’s women’s flag football team (2-1-1) is set to compete in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Conference Round-Up 2, hosted by Virginia Union University in Richmond, Va. The event will take place from Friday, March 28, to Saturday, March 29.
Bulldogs’ Strong Start
The Bulldogs made an impressive debut at the CIAA Round-Up 1, securing two victories in their first-ever tournament. They opened with a 12-6 win over Bluefield State University, followed by a thrilling 13-12 victory against Fayetteville State University. Despite a hard-fought 2-0 loss to Claflin University, Bowie State finished the tournament with a scoreless draw against Livingstone College, demonstrating strong defensive play.

What’s Next?
Following the Round-Up, the Bulldogs will shift their focus to the inaugural CIAA women’s flag football championship, set to take place in Charlotte, N.C., from April 10-11. The tournament, hosted by Johnson C. Smith University, will determine the conference’s first-ever champion in the sport.
