Football NSW has named Manly Warringah Football Association’s (MWFA) Narrabeen FC as its Club Changer of the Month for March. This recognition highlights the club’s commitment to inclusivity, growth, and long-term success.
The Club Changer program, led by Football Australia, is designed to support and strengthen clubs, ensuring they remain sustainable while fostering development at all levels.
Narrabeen FC President Rocky Giles celebrated the achievement, crediting the club’s long-term vision as they mark their 60th anniversary.
“One of our long-standing goals has been to create a Women’s Premier League (WPL) team, and this year, that vision has become a reality,” Giles said.
“By establishing a WPL team, Narrabeen FC has ensured that all players now have access to the same pathways for growth and success. Football Australia’s Club Changer program has given us a clear roadmap for the future.”
MWFA CEO Vicki Halpin praised the club’s efforts in utilizing the program to drive growth in female participation.
“Narrabeen used their Club Changer Action Plan in 2024 to support more women’s involvement, and they are now seeing the results in 2025,” Halpin said.
“In July 2024, Football NSW hosted a Club Changer workshop, and it’s fantastic to see that nine MWFA clubs have now gained accreditation.”
Narrabeen FC’s efforts have led to impressive growth, with over 400 registered female players, expanding from 22 women’s teams in 2022 to 29 in 2025.
Football NSW’s Program Manager of Club Development, Trevor Huxley, praised the club’s commitment.
“Narrabeen FC continues to strengthen its presence in female football, and being named Club Changer of the Month is a well-earned recognition of their dedication and hard work,” he said.
