The Quinnipiac women’s basketball team saw their season come to a close on Thursday night, falling to Seton Hall 57-40 in the WBIT First Round.
Grisdale Leads Bobcats in Scoring
Jackie Grisdale paced the Bobcats with 15 points, shooting 50% (6-for-12) from the field and hitting a team-high three three-pointers. Anna Foley added 12 points, six rebounds, and two blocks, while five Quinnipiac players contributed to the scoring.
Slow Start Puts Bobcats Behind
Grisdale opened the game with a three-pointer, but Seton Hall responded with a dominant 17-4 run, ending the first quarter up 17-7. The Pirates extended their lead to 11 points midway through the second quarter, but the Bobcats fought back with a 7-0 run, making it a two-possession game at halftime.
Seton Hall Maintains Control in the Second Half
At the start of the third quarter, Quinnipiac cut the deficit to just four points with seven minutes left. However, Seton Hall answered with another strong run, closing the quarter ahead 41-30.
Despite Quinnipiac’s efforts in the final ten minutes, Seton Hall maintained their lead and secured the 57-40 victory, advancing to the second round of the WBIT.
