The Central Arkansas tennis team is gearing up for an important two-match road trip, starting with North Alabama on Thursday, March 21, in Florence, Ala., at 11 a.m., followed by a matchup against Lipscomb in Nashville on Sunday, March 24, at 12 p.m.
Building Momentum in Conference Play
With a 7-8 record, UCA is looking to build momentum as it continues through conference play. The Bears have shown strong performances in recent matches and aim to carry that energy into this road trip.
North Alabama (11-2) presents a tough challenge with a talented roster determined to defend its home court. Historically, UCA holds a 3-1 lead in the all-time series against the Lions. However, North Alabama claimed a narrow 4-3 victory in their last meeting on April 7, 2024. Before that, the Bears had won three consecutive matches against UNA from 2013 to 2023, including a dominant 7-0 sweep in 2022.
Matchup Against Lipscomb
After facing UNA, UCA will turn its attention to Lipscomb (8-4), another strong conference opponent. The Bears also hold a 3-1 all-time series lead over the Bisons, but Lipscomb secured a commanding 7-0 victory in their most recent meeting on April 5, 2024. UCA previously won three straight matches against Lipscomb from 2022 to 2023, including a 7-0 sweep in their first-ever encounter on March 18, 2022.
Conference Standings at Stake
These matchups carry significance as UCA looks to improve its standing in the conference. Strong performances from the Bears’ lineup will be crucial in securing a successful road trip. With a competitive stretch ahead, UCA will aim to make a statement and gain momentum as the season progresses.
