The Lindenwood baseball team (9-12) came up short in the final game of their series against Memphis (11-8), falling 7-4 on Sunday afternoon in Memphis, Tenn.
Game Overview
Memphis jumped ahead in the second inning with a three-run homer, taking an early 3-0 lead. Lindenwood responded in the third when Jake Radosevich delivered a crucial two-out hit, driving in Kam Edwards to put the Lions on the board.
Bryson Arnette kept the momentum going in the fourth, launching a solo home run to right field to cut the deficit to 3-2. However, Memphis answered immediately, scoring four runs in the bottom half of the inning to extend their lead to 7-2.
Lindenwood continued to battle, adding a run in the sixth when Edwards singled to bring home Charlie Isom-McCall, making it 7-3. Arnette provided another spark in the eighth with his second homer of the game, bringing the Lions within three. Despite their efforts, Lindenwood couldn’t close the gap and dropped the series finale.
One bright spot for the Lions was their bullpen, which delivered four scoreless innings to keep the team in the game.
