Inter Milan extended their lead at the top of Serie A with a 2-0 victory over Atalanta on Sunday. The win put them three points ahead of Napoli, who were held to a goalless draw against struggling Venezia.
The first half saw intense action but no goals, with Inter’s Marcus Thuram hitting the post and Atalanta’s Mario Pasalic forcing a save from Yann Sommer. The breakthrough came nine minutes after halftime when Carlos Augusto headed in from a corner. Atalanta’s Ederson received two yellow cards in quick succession and was sent off in the 81st minute. Lautaro Martínez sealed the win three minutes from time, but Inter finished the game with 10 men after Alessandro Bastoni was shown a red card in stoppage time.
The victory takes Inter to 64 points, three ahead of Napoli on 61, while Atalanta remain in third with 58.
Juventus Crumble Against Fiorentina
Juventus suffered another heavy defeat, falling 3-0 to Fiorentina. It was their second consecutive big loss after last week’s 4-0 humiliation by Atalanta.
Fiorentina took control early, scoring twice within three minutes. Robin Gosens opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a deflected shot, and soon after, Nicolò Fagioli set up Rolando Mandragora, who fired a low strike into the bottom corner. Juventus failed to recover, piling more pressure on coach Thiago Motta.
PSG Move Closer to Ligue 1 Title
Paris Saint-Germain took another step toward the Ligue 1 title with a 3-1 win over second-placed Marseille. The victory extended their lead to 19 points with only eight rounds remaining.
Ousmane Dembélé opened the scoring in the 17th minute, and Nuno Mendes doubled the lead before halftime. Marseille pulled one back early in the second half through Amine Gouiri, but PSG sealed the win when Pol Lirola scored an own goal in the 76th minute.
Ligue 1 Match Abandoned Due to Fire in the Stands
A game between Montpellier and Saint-Etienne was abandoned in the 63rd minute after home fans threw flares onto the pitch and a section of the stadium caught fire.
Montpellier were trailing 2-0 when flares disrupted play. The referee stopped the game briefly before resuming, but the situation escalated when flames and smoke became visible in the stands. Players were sent to the dressing rooms, and after a 20-minute delay, officials announced that the match had been abandoned.
Leverkusen’s Stunning Comeback Keeps Bundesliga Title Race Alive
Bayer Leverkusen staged a dramatic late comeback to beat Stuttgart 4-3, cutting Bayern Munich’s lead at the top of the Bundesliga to six points.
Stuttgart led 2-0 after goals from Ermedin Demirovic and Nick Woltemade. Jeremie Frimpong pulled one back for Leverkusen before an own goal from Granit Xhaka restored Stuttgart’s two-goal advantage. Piero Hincapié gave Leverkusen hope with a goal in the 68th minute, and in the final moments, Angelo Stiller’s own goal leveled the score. Patrik Schick then netted a stoppage-time winner to complete an incredible turnaround.
Leverkusen now sit in second place with 56 points, six behind Bayern, who drew 1-1 with Union Berlin.
