The University of Dayton women’s tennis team pulled off a dramatic 4-3 road victory over Tennessee State, overcoming an early deficit in doubles play with strong performances in singles.
After losing the doubles point, the Flyers responded with determination. Senior Neena Katauskas set the tone at No. 2 singles, delivering a commanding 6-3, 6-1 win. Fellow senior Laura Greb also contributed, securing a victory at No. 3 after her opponent retired while trailing 6-1, 2-0. Junior Montserrat Sierra kept the momentum going with a straight-set triumph at No. 5, winning 6-3, 6-3.
With the match tied at 3-3, freshman Haley Klein stepped up under pressure. She battled through three sets at No. 4 singles, ultimately clinching the win for Dayton with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 victory over Tijana Nikolic.
