Old Dominion University senior Sofia Johnson has been named the Sun Belt Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season, the conference announced Wednesday.
Johnson played a key role in ODU’s 2-0 week, securing victories in both of her No. 1 singles matches.
Ranked No. 10 nationally, Johnson clinched the Monarchs’ win over Appalachian State by defeating Savannah Dada-Mascoll 7-5, 6-2. She continued her strong performance on Sunday, topping Marshall’s Johanna Strom 6-3, 7-5 to seal another team victory.
ODU will continue Sun Belt Conference play on the road this weekend, facing Troy on Saturday and Georgia State on Sunday.
