Florida Gulf Coast University will host its first-ever beach volleyball tournament starting Friday at the R.O.C. The two-day event will feature five top beach volleyball teams, with four of them ranked in the Top 20 or receiving votes.
The participating teams include No. 14 FIU, No. 19 North Florida, No. 20 Stetson, and (RV) South Carolina, alongside FGCU. Five matches are set to take place on Friday and Saturday. The action begins on Friday at 8 a.m. with FGCU facing No. 14 FIU, followed by a match against South Carolina at 2 p.m.
On Saturday, FGCU will take on ASUN rival No. 19 North Florida at 10 a.m. and finish the tournament with No. 20 Stetson at 4 p.m. FGCU enters the tournament with a 3-3 record, having secured victories over North Alabama, Southern Miss, and Eckerd.
Kaitlyn Luebbers heads into the tournament with 76 career wins, just seven shy of setting the FGCU record.
