The UNC Asheville men’s tennis team will host Queens (N.C.) in a non-conference matchup on Friday, March 7, at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown. The match is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.

UNC Asheville enters the contest with a 6-4 overall record, following a 5-2 loss to Kennesaw State on March 1. The Bulldogs have a strong 29-26 combined singles record and a 13-10 doubles record this season.
Freddy Murray leads the team with eight singles wins, while Tarek Erlewein has five, and Olle Sonesson Lidholt has four. Trevor Gray and Cian Ingles have each won three singles matches. Sai Gandepalli, Griffin Lovern, and Luke Ruecker each have two singles victories.
In doubles, Lovern and Erlewein lead the team with four wins, followed by Murray/Lidholt and Gandepalli/Gray, who each have three wins. Lovern/Ingles and Ingles/Gandepalli have one win each in doubles play this season.
Queens (N.C.) comes into the match with a 3-7 record after a 4-2 victory over Youngstown State on March 5. The Royals have a combined 23-34 singles record and a 9-17 doubles record.
Laurenz Blickwede and Win Steveker lead the Royals with seven singles wins each, while Jan Diaz Montero has three. Gavin Ryan and Lukas Gosselin each have two singles wins, while Luke Coppage and Jake Grimes each have one.
In doubles, Ryan/Blickwede and Montero/Gosselin lead the team with three wins each, while Coppage/Steveker have two. Montero/Steveker also have one doubles win.
This will be the first-ever matchup between UNC Asheville and Queens in men’s tennis.
