The Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team suffered a close 4-3 defeat against Ball State on Thursday at the Michael O. Buchanon Tennis Center.

Austin Peay (3-8) secured one victory in doubles play, with Asia Fontana and Elena Thiel earning a hard-fought 7-6 win over Ella Hazelbaker and Elena Malykh. However, Ball State claimed the doubles point with wins on courts one and two.
In singles, Denise Torrealba dominated on court one, securing a commanding 6-0, 6-0 victory over Jemima Williams-Philips. Fontana followed with a 6-4, 6-3 win against Chloe Brown on court two. Thiel also delivered a strong performance, defeating Hazelbaker 6-0, 6-1 on court six.
Despite these efforts, Ball State claimed victories on courts three, four, and five, sealing the overall win.
