Belmont University (2-11) ended their five-game homestand with a tough loss to Tennessee Tech (10-4) on Wednesday night, falling 16-3 in eight innings. Despite an early competitive start, the Golden Eagles’ offense proved too strong for the Bruins to handle.
Game Highlights
Tennessee Tech struck first in the opening inning with Jorsixt Jimenez driving in the first run on an RBI double to left field. Belmont quickly answered when Blake Barton tied the game at 1-1 with an RBI single to left.
The Golden Eagles regained the lead in the third inning, making it 3-1 with a wild pitch and a ground out. Belmont responded in the same inning with Ty Allen driving in Pete Daniel with an RBI single to bring the score to 3-2.
However, Tennessee Tech extended their lead in the fourth inning, scoring three more runs to make it 6-2. Belmont kept battling as Kaden Galason led off the fifth with a double, followed by a two-out RBI single from Daniel to cut the lead to 6-3.
Unfortunately for the Bruins, the Golden Eagles exploded for 10 runs on 10 hits in the final three innings to end the game in a 16-3 victory, enforcing the run rule.

- Zane Brown made his first start for Belmont and struck out a season-high six batters in three innings.
- Blake Barton had two hits and an RBI.
- Pete Daniel and Landon Godsey both stole a base.
- Jack Morrisey and Krish Gandhi made their Belmont debuts on the mound.
- Caleb Guisewite also made his season debut.
Looking Ahead
Belmont will now travel to Little Rock for a three-game series starting March 7-9. The first pitch of the series is set for 3 p.m. CT on Friday at Gary Hogan Field. All games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
