The 2025 Sky Super Rugby Aupiki season will begin this Saturday, March 1, marking an exciting year for women’s rugby in New Zealand. The competition, which is entering its fourth season, remains the country’s premier professional women’s rugby league.
For the first time, fans will be able to watch the Final on prime-time television, with the match set to air on Sky at 7:05 pm on Saturday, April 12. This is a significant move aimed at giving women’s rugby more visibility.
Following the conclusion of the Sky Super Rugby Aupiki season, the first-ever Women’s Super Rugby Champions Final will take place. This trans-Tasman match will feature the top teams from both Sky Super Rugby Aupiki and Australia’s Super W. The match will be broadcast live on Sky at 7:05 pm on Thursday, April 17.
Hannah Porter, New Zealand Rugby’s Head of Women’s High Performance, shared her excitement about the season: “Sky Super Rugby Aupiki promises to deliver another highly competitive season with the fast-paced, physical rugby fans know and love. Fans can watch every match of Sky Super Rugby Aupiki live on Sky Sport. Additionally, one match per week will be available for free on Sky Open, including the Grand Final.
