The University of Manitoba men’s volleyball program, known for being one of the best blocking teams in the country, has welcomed 6’8″ middle blocker Isaac McComb to its roster. The Calgary, AB native’s commitment strengthens the team’s presence at the middle position.
McComb has a history of leadership and excellence. He served as team captain and was named MVP for Joane Cardinal-Schubert High School in the 2023-24 season. He also captained the senior high school team from 2023 to 2025.
At the club level, McComb earned MVP honors for Ace Volleyball’s U17 team during the 2023-24 season.
Not only excelling in volleyball, McComb has also maintained an impressive academic record, keeping his average above 90 percent.
With both of his grandparents being University of Manitoba graduates, McComb is excited to follow in their footsteps. “The Bisons program provides an excellent opportunity in my journey to becoming the most successful athlete and student I am capable of,” he shared.
After meeting the team and Coach Ludwig, McComb expressed his enthusiasm: “I am extremely excited to be a part of the community and cultivate my talents at the University of Manitoba.”
