The Lindenwood men’s volleyball team (3-7, 0-4 MIVA) lost to No. 8 Ball State (10-4, 3-1 MIVA) in three straight sets on Thursday night at Hyland Arena.

Ball State quickly took control of the first set, racing to a 10-6 lead before extending their advantage to 13-7, prompting a timeout from Lindenwood. The Cardinals dominated the rest of the set, finishing strong with a 25-15 victory.
The second set saw both teams exchange points early on, but a big block by Lindenwood’s Brendan Louthain gave the Lions a 10-9 lead. However, Ball State responded with a strong run, holding a 15-12 lead at the media timeout. The Cardinals maintained their momentum and won the set 25-17.
The third set began similarly, with both teams trading points until Ball State went up 10-8. The Lions managed a mini-run after the media timeout, taking a 20-18 lead thanks to an ace from Carter Stenmark. However, Ball State regrouped and closed the set with a 25-22 win to complete the sweep.
