Louisville Volleyball Welcomes Parker Mikesch as Assistant Coach

Louisville volleyball’s former standout player, Anna DeBeer, expressed her enthusiasm following the announcement that Parker Mikesch has been appointed as the team’s new assistant coach. The announcement was made by newly appointed head coach, Dan Meske, who took over the program following Dani Busboom Kelly’s departure to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Mikesch, a former libero and two-time captain at Ohio State University from 2019 to 2022, brings a wealth of experience to the Cardinals. He also holds dual degrees in Psychology and Sport Industry.

Before his tenure at UNC, Mikesch’s connection to Louisville volleyball was solidified when he volunteered as an assistant coach during the 2022 season. In this role, he supported the team in scouting, game preparation, player development, film analysis, and practice planning. Mikesch has further built his coaching credentials with experience at the club level, working as a private lesson trainer and team coach at both the Elite Volleyball Club in Columbus and the KIVA Volleyball Club in Louisville.

The official announcement was shared on the Cardinals’ social media, which read: “Look who’s back. Parker Mikesch has officially rejoined our staff as an Assistant Coach!” DeBeer, who has earned four AVCA All-American honors during her collegiate career, celebrated the news by resharing the post on her Instagram story, writing, “Let’s go,” followed by a goat emoji.

DeBeer also took the opportunity to praise Meske’s dedication and work ethic. “Dan is one of the most hardworking coaches I’ve ever had and is always finding ways to improve himself every day,” she said. “We would not have accomplished what we did these past few years without him. There is no one I trust more to take over this amazing program and continue the legacy Louisville Volleyball is building.”

Mikesch’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the Louisville volleyball program as they look to build on their success and continue their rise in NCAA women’s volleyball.
