Clemson University’s volleyball program has announced the hiring of Nicole Willis as the new Director of Volleyball Operations for the 2025 season. In her role, Willis will be responsible for managing day-to-day logistics, including team travel, equipment coordination, and ensuring smooth operations for the coaching staff.
Head Coach Jackie Simpson Kirr praised Willis for her exceptional organizational abilities and her talent for establishing strong personal connections with players. “Nicole’s skillset and her experience in building relationships make her an excellent fit for our team,” Simpson Kirr said.
Willis brings to Clemson a wealth of experience from her previous tenure at NC State, where she served as an Assistant Director and Learning Specialist. In these positions, she focused on providing educational support to student-athletes.
A former collegiate player at East Carolina University, Willis was recognized as an All-Conference player and earned a spot on the honor roll twice. Her background as a player and her connections to Coach Simpson Kirr further enhance her ability to make an immediate impact at Clemson.
Willis’s hiring comes after the departure of Haley Bilbruck, who transitioned to an assistant coaching role in January. She joins the staff alongside Mo (Simmons) McKinney, a former Clemson player who was appointed as an assistant coach earlier this year.
With Willis now on board, the Clemson volleyball program is poised to streamline its operations and foster player growth, setting a strong foundation for the 2025 season.
Willis’s addition reflects Clemson’s strategic focus on improving team dynamics and operational success, positioning the program for continued success in the upcoming season.
