Redfoo Makes Professional Tennis Debut at M15 Sharm El Sheikh Tournament

American rapper and singer Redfoo, known for his energetic hits with LMFAO, has ventured into an unexpected new chapter of his career by participating in his first professional tennis tournament. Stefan Kendal Gordy, the 48-year-old son of Motown founder Berry Gordy Jr., made his tennis debut at the M15 Sharm El Sheikh event in Egypt, part of the ITF Men’s World Tennis Tour.

Despite his success in the music world, Redfoo has always had a passion for tennis. He made his mark in the competition by winning his opening set in the qualifying round with a dominant 6-0 score. However, his tournament run ended in the next round after facing Norwegian player Leyton Rivera. In a quick 43-minute match, Redfoo was defeated 6-1, 6-0.

Following his loss, Redfoo took to Instagram to reflect on the experience. “I lost the match, but this was my best point. Good match and good luck, Leyton Rivera,” he wrote, sharing a video of the notable shot that earned him praise.

This isn’t Redfoo’s first attempt at a tennis career. In 2013, he tried to qualify for the prestigious US Open, and his connection to the sport runs deep, having dated Belarusian tennis star Victoria Azarenka from 2012 to 2014. Azarenka, a former world number one, played a significant role in Redfoo’s tennis journey.

The singer, who rose to fame with LMFAO’s iconic party anthems, has also been keeping active in the music world. After a six-year hiatus, Redfoo returned in April 2023 with Long Live Party Rock, a collaboration with Dainjazone. He has also spent time as a judge on The X Factor Australia in 2013 and 2014, where he replaced Guy Sebastian on the panel.

Known for hits like “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy and I Know It,” LMFAO’s second album, Sorry For Party Rocking, reached #2 in Australia and saw major success, with both singles hitting #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart and earning multiple platinum certifications.

While his tennis career may have just begun, Redfoo’s determination and positive attitude show that he’s ready to embrace every new challenge—on and off the court.
