Gabriel Strefezza delivered a standout performance with a goal and an assist as Como secured a commanding 4-1 victory over Udinese on Monday, propelling Cesc Fàbregas’ squad three points clear of the Serie A relegation zone. This decisive win marks a significant achievement for Como, enhancing their standing in the league.
The match kicked off with Assane Diao scoring in the fifth minute, giving Como an early lead. Strefezza then doubled the advantage just before halftime, finding the net with a low shot after Udinese struggled to clear a corner. This two-goal cushion set the tone for Como’s dominance in the first half.
Udinese attempted a comeback early in the second half when Martin Payero scored, but their hopes were dashed when Edoardo Goldaniga received a second yellow card in the 57th minute, leaving Udinese a man down. The situation worsened for the visitors when Oumar Solet was also sent off shortly after, reducing both teams to ten players. An own goal by Jaka Bijol and a well-executed fourth goal from Nico Paz in the final moments sealed Como’s biggest victory since their return to Serie A, moving them up from 17th to 13th place. Meanwhile, Udinese remains in 10th place, extending their winless streak to four matches.
