In his senior year, Lausch was named the 2022 Chicago Catholic League Baseball Player of the Year. He was also selected for the Class 4A All-State team and earned a spot on the All-State Academic Team, which recognizes the top 26 student-athletes in Illinois.

Lausch led Brother Rice to a third-place finish in Class 4A. He finished the season with a .386 batting average, a .521 on-base percentage, five home runs, 43 RBIs, 51 runs scored, and 33 stolen bases.

As a quarterback, Lausch started 10 games for the Northwestern football team in 2024. He completed 159 of 296 passes for 1,714 yards and seven touchdowns, while also rushing 87 times for 213 yards and two touchdowns. Lausch threw eight interceptions during the season.

Lausch is the first Northwestern athlete to play both football and baseball since Dan Kubiuk in 2015-16. He remains an active member of the football team and plans to participate in spring practice.

Northwestern’s baseball team, which finished the 2024 season with an 18-34 record and 4-20 in the Big Ten, will open its 2025 campaign with a three-game series at Long Beach State from February 14-16.
