As the new year unfolds, Ohio State University celebrates a significant achievement in collegiate tennis. Third-year student-athlete Jack Anthrop has been named a Big Ten Men’s Tennis Player to Watch for the upcoming season. This recognition comes as the Big Ten announces its player selections for each team ahead of the 2025 dual season, highlighting the anticipation surrounding college tennis in the new year.
Anthrop, who recently completed a standout sophomore season, recorded an impressive 41 singles victories, earning him his first All-America honors. His remarkable performance tied him for the fifth-most wins in a single season in Ohio State’s program history. Following a successful fall season, where he reached the singles semifinals at both the ITA Midwest Regional and the ITA Fall National Championship, Anthrop maintained an undefeated singles record in the dual season until facing defeat in the NCAA Tournament in May.
In addition to his singles success, Anthrop showcased his skills in doubles, forming a formidable partnership with Cannon Kingsley during the NCAA Tournament. Together, they achieved a perfect 4-0 record, earning All-Tournament team honors at No. 3 doubles. With a career record of 87-19, the Orlando, Florida native is poised to be a key contributor to the Buckeyes’ lineup once again this season. The 2025 Big Ten men’s tennis roster also features other standout players, including Kenta Miyoshi from Illinois and Facundo Yunis from Indiana, promising an exciting season ahead.
