Their expertise and commitment are key to our team’s success.”
Hassan, now in his eighth year with the Twins, was previously Vice President of Hitting Development & Acquisitions. In his new role, he will focus more on the major league team and hitting group while continuing to collaborate on player development. He will also remain involved in offensive player acquisition. Hassan, who joined the organization in 2018, has served in various roles in player development, including Director of Player Development from 2020 to 2022. A former professional player, Hassan briefly appeared in the major leagues with the Boston Red Sox in 2014.
Johnson, in his 24th season with the Twins, has served as Vice President of Amateur Scouting since 2022. He will continue to lead the club’s amateur scouting efforts and oversee preparations for the First-Year Player Draft. Johnson has been with the Twins since 2002 and has played a key role in developing the club’s amateur scouting philosophies. Before joining the Twins, Johnson played catcher at Wichita State University.
Kalk, who has been with the Twins since 2017, will contribute to all aspects of baseball strategy. He will focus on integrating insights from the Baseball Research and Development team and continue to assist major league and player development staff. Kalk, who previously worked with the Tampa Bay Rays, holds a Master of Science degree in physics from Michigan State University.
General Manager Jeremy Zoll praised the trio’s skills and innovative approaches, stating, “Their expertise in player development, scouting, and strategy is invaluable to our organization, and I look forward to seeing their continued impact as we aim to build a championship-caliber team.”
