Olympiakos has solidified its position at the top of the Super League table following a dramatic come-from-behind victory against Aris, while rivals Panathinaikos and PAOK dropped crucial points over the weekend. The Reds, fresh off a 2-0 win against Panetolikos, faced a tough challenge on Saturday, with Aris taking the lead through a goal from Loren Moron before halftime. However, young substitute Babis Kostoulas turned the tide for Olympiakos, scoring just five minutes into the second half and netting the winner in stoppage time, despite Aris being reduced to ten men.
AEK Athens capitalized on the situation, climbing to second place after a 2-0 victory over Athens Kallithea on Sunday. Goals from central defender Simos Mitoglou and Erik Lamela secured the win for AEK, although the match was interrupted for over half an hour due to heavy rainfall in the second half. This victory puts AEK in a strong position as they chase Olympiakos at the top of the table.
In contrast, Panathinaikos faced disappointment in a 2-2 draw against Panserraikos. The Greens initially led 2-0 with goals from Tete and Adam Cerin, but the hosts fought back with two goals from joint top scorer Jefte Betancor, including a controversial penalty that resulted in the red card for Panathinaikos goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski. Meanwhile, PAOK suffered a shocking end to their match against Volos, conceding two injury-time goals to lose 2-1 after leading through Mady Camara’s first-half strike. In other action, Atromitos secured a 3-0 win against bottom-placed Lamia. Following these results, Olympiakos leads the league with 40 points, while AEK follows with 37, Panathinaikos has 36, and PAOK remains at 33 points.
