The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay women’s volleyball team hosted the 5th annual Attacking Alzheimer’s Night at the Kress Events Center, aiming to raise both funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s disease.
Proceeds from the event supported the Alzheimer’s Association, helping to fund vital research and provide care for those affected by the disease.
A key moment of the evening was the recognition of former Wisconsin Governor Marty Schreiber, who was honored for his dedication to Alzheimer’s advocacy. Schreiber, who cared for his wife Elaine during her battle with the disease, received the game ball and spoke to attendees before the match.
While the event celebrated volleyball, it also focused on providing crucial support to families dealing with Alzheimer’s. The funds raised will help offer 24/7 care and support research efforts to find a cure.
“We are proud to continue this important tradition,” said Cari Josephson, Director of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. “This event unites our community to make a real difference for families affected by Alzheimer’s.”
