In a significant move, Sparta Prague has announced the signing of Danish midfielder Magnus Kofod Andersen from Serie A side Venezia. The club confirmed on Sunday that the 25-year-old has inked a multi-year contract, although the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed.
Andersen, whose contract with Venezia was set to expire at the end of the current season, played a crucial role in the team’s promotion back to Italy’s top division last year. Since joining Venezia from Danish club Nordsjælland in 2022, he has made 114 appearances and netted four goals, including one goal in 14 matches during the ongoing season.
The addition of Andersen bolsters Sparta’s squad, which already features four other Danish players, including head coach Lars Friis and defenders Asger Sörensen and Mathias Ross, as well as goalkeeper Peter Vindahl. This season, Sparta Prague is competing in the Champions League, marking an exciting chapter for the club and its new signing.
