National shuttler Yap Roy King plans to keep competing in both men’s doubles and mixed doubles, a role he has maintained in the past.
Despite a successful season in the men’s doubles alongside Wan Arif Wan Junaidi, the 24-year-old player remains confident in his ability to compete in the mixed doubles as well.
“I enjoy playing in the mixed doubles, and I feel I am capable of managing both categories. I’m still passionate about it and can handle the workload,” he said in a recent interview.
With Valeree Siow sidelined due to a knee injury, Roy King may be temporarily paired with a new partner for the mixed doubles. However, he is still unsure who that partner will be.
“I’m not certain who my new partner will be, but I’ve suggested a few names to the coach. There are many factors to consider when choosing my new partner,” Roy King explained.
He added, “The coach has said that I’ll play with someone new to ensure I stay sharp in mixed doubles.”
