Celtic maintained their pursuit of the William Hill Premiership title with a commanding 4-0 victory over Motherwell, while Rangers saw their four-game winning streak come to an abrupt end against St Mirren.
The match at Celtic Park saw Arne Engels convert a penalty in first-half added time to give Celtic the lead. Daizen Maeda extended the advantage with a goal in the 57th minute, followed by Nicolas Kuhn, who netted his sixth of the season. Reo Hatate capped off the scoring, securing a dominant win for the hosts.
In contrast, Rangers faced a setback against St Mirren. After Oisin Smyth opened the scoring with a penalty, Danilo equalized just after the hour mark at Paisley 2021 Stadium. However, Caolan Boyd-Munce’s late goal in stoppage time proved decisive, hampering Rangers’ title challenge.
Kilmarnock delivered a resounding performance, defeating Aberdeen 4-0 at Rugby Park. The hosts featured four different scorers, starting with Kyle Vassell, followed by David Watson’s goal in the 59th minute. Innes Cameron and Bruce Anderson added two more goals late in the match to complete the rout.
Dundee United overcame a goal deficit to secure a 2-1 win against bottom-placed St Johnstone. After Makenzie Kirk scored just before halftime, Dundee United rallied with goals from Glen Middleton and Sam Dalby, despite Declan Gallagher receiving a red card in the closing minutes.
Ross County handed Dundee their third consecutive defeat with a convincing 3-0 victory. Goals from Noah Chilvers, Josh Nisbet, and Jordan White propelled County to 10th place in the standings.
Lastly, Hibernian achieved their third straight win by edging out city rivals Hearts 2-1. An own goal by Kye Rowles put Hibs ahead, but Rocky Bushiri equalized for Hearts with another own goal before veteran striker Dwight Gayle secured the win in the 78th minute.
