As the January transfer window approaches, key Liverpool players Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold are eligible to negotiate pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs starting January 1.
In a recent appearance on the Men in Blazers show, journalist Fabrizio Romano addressed the contract situations of these players. While he could not confirm whether Salah, van Dijk, and Alexander-Arnold will remain at Liverpool next season, he indicated that one defender is poised to extend his contract with the club “really, really soon.”
That defender is Ibrahima Konaté, who has made a strong impact this season. The 25-year-old French international has appeared in 18 matches across all competitions, helping the team secure 10 clean sheets and achieve 16 victories during his time on the field.
Konaté’s impending contract extension is expected to bolster the future of Liverpool’s defense, reflecting his significant contributions to both the club and the national team.
