World Cup winner Alessandro Nesta was dismissed as head coach of Monza on Monday after leading the team to just one victory in 17 Serie A matches.The decision came a day after Monza suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Juventus.
In his place, the club has appointed former Verona coach Salvatore Bocchetti, who has signed a contract through the 2026-27 season.Nesta took charge of Monza in June, with the team’s sole league win this season occurring in October, when they defeated Hellas Verona 3-0.
A key member of Italy’s 2006 World Cup-winning squad, Nesta enjoyed a successful playing career with Lazio and AC Milan. His coaching experience includes stints with Miami FC, Perugia, Frosinone, and Reggiana.Monza is set to visit Parma on Sunday.
